About the Author

Reid Reasor is an author and scientist.

He researches and writes position papers and books on science and the cultural/social psychology issues of the day.

In 1985, Reid graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Astronautical Engineering. He holds a Master’s degree in Technology from Arizona State University and has had four years of doctoral studies in education and social psychology from Texas State University and Grand Canyon University, respectively. His dissertation work is in embodied cognition.

Reid served his country for 20 years as an attack and fighter pilot, first flying the OV-10, then mainly the F-15C, in combat operations under four different presidents on three different continents. His largest command was in 2001, as director of air operations in Iraq during Operation Northern Watch. When Reid retired in 2004, he was the squadron commander of the elite Weapons System Evaluation Program at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Reid’s Air Force career was cut short by his diagnosis of late-stage Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). When Reid was informed that he had less than a 5% chance of survival, his children were only 11 and 13.

During the following years, Reid kept detailed notes about his and his family’s experiences fighting late-stage cancer. He was inspired to write Not a Bad Death to help others in their fights.

Reid lives in New Hampshire, where he works and writes from home.
